Today we had 20 people over for a Thanksgiving dinner.. Yes, it’s true. In Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving in October while we still have leaves on the trees, and the harvest is coming in. I am so thankful for a few things this year:
1. The harvest itself. Living in a rural community, this summer full of rain put harvest in jeopardy, but we have had a week or more now of harvest conditions, I am thankful as I watch my farming neighbors bringing in their crops.
2. Dinner today was especially fantastic because Mikes dad, who had not been in o ur home for at least 3 years because of health, not only made it into our home with all its stairs, but over to the studio later to see it, and to have his photo taken with his wife, my mother in law, Mady…as their 50th anniversary is fast a pproaching this month!
3. Friends made through the business of photography… Truly the last year has been one of growth for me, and as I head in a little bit of a new direction, I am truly thankful for those who I have felt a kinship with not only because of photography, but because of the genuine kind people they are. Thank you Crystal, Heather, Jan, Kyla, Angie, Radelle for all your kind words and encouragement!
4. My clients. Of course without your faith and trust in me to take your special photographs, I wouldn’t be growing like I have in the past year. Your generosity when I asked for help with the “Trimm for Brynn” fundraiser truly touched my heart. I hope I can repay the generosity in the coming year with some special days just for all my clients (stay tuned….)
5. My senior spokesmodels this year…. Rayelle, Raven, Hannah, Madi and Aniko! What fun girls you were, and to go out on a shoot all together was truly a blast for me!. You are all beautiful, radiant, young women witht he world in the palm of your hand. Don’t ever sell yourself short, and shoot for the stars in this your last year in high school!
